Kristen Stewart locks in ANOTHER movie for 2017
Kristen Stewart is set to star in the new action thriller ‘Underwater’.
Kristen has avoided mainstream roles in her post-Twilight career, and opted for movies such as 2014’s Clouds of Sils Maria and 2015’s Equals.
According to Deadline however, Kristen is about to return to mainstream cinema. Besides a new Twilight movie with details still being withheld, her negotiations are said to be finalized to star in Underwater.
Described as an underwater version of 1998’s Armageddon, the story centres on a team of researchers who, after an earthquake devastates their underwater station, have to navigate through a dangerous two miles of the ocean floor to make it to safety.
Assuming Kristen signs on to the project, she’ll be playing the film’s lead character, Norah, a hardened, bitter, and quite jaded crew member who ends up in a relationship with another crew member.
Kristen’s other recent credits include Woody Allen‘s Café Society, Billy Lynn’s Long Halftime Walk and the psychological thriller Personal Shopper, while she also stars in the upcoming Lizzie Borden biopic Lizzie, opposite Chloë Sevigny.
Kristen is set to have an extremely busy year with multiple movies being filmed, along with maintaining her role as Chanel’s brand ambassador.
